This site is dedicated to sharing the vision from Mt. Sinai. This vision, witnessed by an entire nation, was a prophetic one. It incorporated a holistic view of the universe uniting both heaven and earth, the spiritual dimension with the material one. This vision is so important today when the world is divided between those who espouse the view of scientific materialism, which sees the world as a totally physical one exclusively made up of matter and those who see the world as an illusion whose true nature is spiritual energy. In truth, each of these views alone is flawed. The physical universe is as real as the spiritual forces that lie hidden beneath the surface. But both of them are ultimately unreal in light of the one G-d that created them.

Prior to the event at Mt. Sinai, the world was inundated with idol worship. This mistaken world view did not deny the existence of an ultimate Creator G-d. Rather it held that human beings cannot relate to this G-d directly. They must go through an intermediary. And these intermediaries were the sun, moon, and stars, the statues that represented the forces of nature, and the gods that controlled prosperity, healing, love, and war. Sometimes a man or woman became the god-intermediary like the Pharoh of ancient Egypt or the Emperor of China. And these intermediary idols were seen to be autonomous over their field of authority. The appeal of idol worship was that it allowed a person direct access to the powerful forces that affected his world. By worshipping and appeasing these idols, he felt he had some control over his life.

The revolutionary innovation of Judaism as exemplified by the stand at Mt. Sinai was that there is only one G-d who encompasses everything and is directly involved with every detail of creation. There are intermediaries like angels and prophets like Moses and Aharon, but they are in no way autonomous. Rather they are messengers of the Divine Will to this world. And the direction of our prayers is not towards the intermediaries, but rather they are directed to the one unseen, infinite G-d.

The stand at Mt. Sinai was an extraordinary event that has never been repeated in history. 600,000 men together with women and children totaling about three million people had a direct experience of G-d's Being. They simultaneously had an OBE (out of body experience) when their souls left their bodies upon hearing the first two commandments. Every Jew descended from the Nation of Israel has access to this experience. It is embedded in the collective memory of the Jewish People. Towards this end I am offering for sale the cd entitled Receiving the Torah - An Experiential Journey to Mt. Sinai.

This cd is the result of months of research, writing, and production. It is the first step in spreading the awareness of G-d's constant Presence in this world. I will, G-d willing, be adding articles on meditation, Torah study, the Hebrew letters, and other inner work. And with G-d's help I will be producing cds on other subjects in the Torah as well.
